and of course lots and lots and lots of snuggles,
its pretty much all we do around here anymore (;

This week has been such a surreal one.
Overflowing with such blissful joy and amazement that
these moments are actually happening.
That he's really truly here.

For real.

We're still pinching ourselves.

This has been such an echo of our honeymoon.
Days flowing seamlessly together, days of joyfully learning and
feeling as if we have always been us three.
Days of implementing new rhythms and adjusting old ones.
Of walks and long talks with lots of laughter and some tears.

Such tender days.
Such raw days.

And to think I thought I could prepare for this.
Ha.

NOTHING could have prepared us for this perfect overwhelming
of love and joy mixed with tenderness in every form.

We are cherishing every moment of it.

P.S. I should note that I (lyss) have yet to change a diaper.
Josh is SUPER DAD.

That One Time We Went On a Impromptu Labor Day Roadtrip And Forgot To Charge The Camera....

hence the weird mix of phone and dslr pics (:
We are so enjoying this season of independence and being
able to do crazy impromptu trips like this one.
As we were talking about random things Saturday night
we realized we had 2 days off and hadn't seen one of our good friends
(he helped us move here in the middle of winter,
so actually he's a really REALLY good friend ;))
in almost 3 years, so hey lets take this time off and go to Louisville and see him!

We had such fun (:

It was so delightful and encouraging to catch up
and find that we were learning/going through some of
the exact same things, just different circumstances.
To laugh about old stories (some of them new to me)
and make some new funny memories,
like losing Blake's car in the middle of downtown and
spending an hour in the sweltering heat searching for it.
It wasn't so funny in the moment (we all had blisters and were quite sweaty :P),
but in the evening we were crying we were laughing so hard about it.

We ate so much yummy food too!
Some of the best chinese we've ever had,
sushi, fudge (the boys said it was AMAZING),
and we ate at one of those grilled cheese and soup places popping up everywhere.
Their vegan cheese was reeeeally good!
And of course we had some local coffee (:

It makes me sad that the camera was dead,
because Louisville is just beautiful
and I would have enjoyed capturing more of it
for memories sake.
Especially the bridge they transformed into a walkway from
Kentucky to Ohio.
Have you heard about it? Its so cool!
We walked on it in the evening after eating
and it was just breathtaking.
I took some pics on my phone but you'll have
to squint really hard to see much of anything...
I kinda of want to go back just to
go on it again.

I am so grateful for old friends
and roadtrips (:

So we made Niagara Falls our destination
and started dreaming and planning from there (:

We will be stopping and exploring in;

~Toronto, Canada
~ Niagara Falls (Canadian side)
~Philadelphia
~Washington D.C.
~Pittsburgh

If you have any tips, recommendations,
or favorite spots you'd suggest we'd stop by or see
along the way please let us know!

We are SO excited and cannot wait to be off!

 Fall
Family
 Apples
 Pumpkins
and a bit lot of rain

Although I began to feel a little silly in my determination to get a pumpkin
when the tractor driver jokingly offered to pay me NOT to go out into the pouring rain....
(after asking who was the person who wanted go out in this and everyone pointed at me)
but it was just perfect when the moment we pulled up to the pumpkin patch
the rain eased off and then stopped completely.

As we trudged through the mud to find our perfect pumpkins,
I watched my guys picking up pumpkins here and there
to hold them up high in the air and ask my opinion of their choice,
I didn't think my heart could be any fuller.
I so delight in and love these guys of mine and I deeply appreciated
their love towards me in following me out into the pouring rain in
the hopes of an adventure and a pumpkin.

God so richly blessed our day out in the orchard and
it will be a sweet and precious memory for many years to come.

Even if it was a little cold and we were all a little wet (;
