This guy just finished his LAST undergrad class!!

Just 2 more semesters and this dude will graduate

with a Masters!

AND be a Papa.

From a trip to the Garfield Conservatory

Oops.

Well there went my blogger of the year award :P

Lets see what have you missed...

a stomach bug,

the coming of October (Hi!)

lots of picnics outside 

lots and lots of Josh studying

and that's about it (:

We're having some issues with our computer

and so its taking me 3x longer to do a blog post

than usual. So combine that with the time constraint of a 

student husband and blogging just gets bumped a lot.....

well that and when I'm sick I'd much

rather sleep (:

So Happy Friday

Just give me a moment....

Tonight a guy at Trader Joe's asked me how I was

(are they instructed to do that? is it in the "working at Trader Joe's manual"

or something? because they ALWAYS ask)

and I thought about it a moment and then said

"I'm tired" 

he looked up at me, laughed, thanked me for my honesty and then when I asked how 

he was doing, he responded with the same.

And then all of the sudden we were friends (:

But truly,

we are a very tired worn out pair over here lately.

I guess there's a lot of little reasons 

(heatwave, not sleeping because of said heatwave, 

stress from school, little stresses, etc)

but as a whole its just been a stressful tiring week.

So tonight we'll set the timer for an hour,

grab a root beer, put on Nat King Cole's "That's All",

sigh about stupid heatwaves and allergies,

and then when the timer goes off,

we'll get back to work.

Because sometimes we just need a moment

from the craze in order to keep going.

Just keep going and going and going (;

Thinking About...

~Its the end of summer beginning of fall but you wouldn't know

it looking at our yard. Everything is so green and new flowers popping

up every day. Um hey pretty flowers, where were you in spring?

~Oops to not blogging for a week....

I always forget the adjustment period to Josh being back in school 

and needing the computer back, because school trumps blogging.

~ little boys poop a lot.

~Its fall cleaning time,

but didn't I just spring clean like last week?

~Hello September! 

~I think our email acccount is losing emails...

~I could listen to Nat King Cole all day

~I'm waiting till the first cool day to watch

"You've Got Mail".

Its my favorite fall movie, last year I watched it 11 times.

I have no shame...

or self control apparently.

~I need to write more handwritten letters.

~Maybe I should work on responding in a timely manner

to phone calls, texts, and emails first.

Small steps, small steps.

~Nickel Creek has been playing constantly in our home.

It will keep playing (along with the civil wars and allison krauss)

until Christmas music takes its place

~We got measured the other day,

we're both really short.

~We also got x-rayed the other day

and our xrays were remarkably similar.

I guess this whole pursuit of unity

thing is really working.

Here we go again!

School started yesterday for this handsome man,

so bring on the 19 credits, gazillion books, and grad classes!

Yay!

Husband just finished and turned in his last whoop dee do paper

of the semester, which means the spring semester is 

officially OVER!

Let the wild rumpus (aka summer) start!

Of course he didn't tell me this until after we had been home

10 or so minutes and as I'm tending to my sunburn

(hazard of warm weather nannying)

and I ask "hey, hows your paper coming?"

Josh -"Good. Really good actually, I'm all done."

Me -"Oh thats great!! How is proofreading going?"

Josh -"Good.... All done actually. I'm done done with the paper. 

I've already turned it in and everything."

 !!!!

(The paper wasn't due till tomorrow,

just so you know I wasn't being a complete idiot....)

Anyway after this there were exclamations of excitement

and then a proclamation that we had to celebrate

and ten minutes later we were off to our favorite celebratory spot (: 

so SO proud of this man 

and so excited for this summer. 

For lots of adventures big and small

and time together.

I really didn't think I was that narcissistic :P

I was supposed to be at home, in bed, per doctor's orders, 

but the L was having issues and husband had a big deal 

presentation so it was decided that I would drop him

off at school and then I couldn't resist watching him give his

fancy shmancy presentation....

next thing I know we've spent the morning in the school courtyard

(him studying, her reading pride and prejudice).

The flowering trees are so beautiful right now and

it was so nice to just be quiet together.

Such a sweet morning to set aside and reminisce about in later days.

P.S. soooo glad spring is here! 

The camping trip that wasn't and other adventures

We'd had plans to go down to KY for spring break to find the warmth that was evading us here
and enjoy the beautiful countryside while camping.
Storm Ukko had other plans however and after a miserably cold night with
many mishaps and misadventures
we admitted defeat and got a hotel room (:

The rest of the trip however was just perfect.

We love road trips and it was such a joy to see the cute Rodgers.
To see a bit of their life in their beautiful home with a lovely front porch
and a view straight out of a movie.
We were smitten to say the least (:

They took us to their favorite antique mall where we perused with ooohs and ahhhs
and the occasional gasp over an outrageous price tag or awkward find (right Breanne? ;))

Then they took us took their home and fed us a yummy dinner
while we talked and laughed for hours about the joys of marriage.

We also stopped by the Creation Museum and gawked at the life sized replica of
Noah's Ark. I think I fell in love with Husband a little more as he expressed awe over and over again
for Noah and his sons skill and ingenuity in building the ark.
He walked around that ark soooo many times examining this angle and that angle (:
I have always admired the ark but grew to admire a different way in seeing it
through the eyes of my carpenter husband.

Kentucky was just as gorgeous as we hoped
(even with snow as the backdrop instead of spring flowers :))
and spending time with good friends was such a delight.
One of our favorite spring breaks yet.

Thanks for having us Rodgers,
we sure do like you a lot!

Remind me again why having pets in a small apartment in the city
