The Weekend

 Consisted of~

Lots of yummy food
including buttercream donuts and tomato sandwiches

Counting sweet baby kicks

Yard saling and having a sweet
ukrainian man have the hardest time
believing I was pregnant and keep saying
"well I guess some mama's show and some don't"
with a thick ukrainian accent of course
poor guy

More tomato sandwiches.
I am really into tomatoes right now.

Demolishing our to do list.
Although, to be fair it was mainly Husband doing the demolishing.
Vacuuming and everything!

Intending to go to church,
but waking up sick (again. stupid cold)
so having a coffee date and talking about baby stuff instead.

Meeting our friends newest little one
and realizing that that will be us in just a few months.
Whoa.

Telling the Facebook world about Little One
and reading and cherishing the joyful responses.

Enjoying the warm weather and deciding that we really
should get chairs that aren't falling apart.

Finding chairs for free on craigslist.
Bada bing bada boom.

Lots of naps for me and studying for him (:

Spring! Kinda sorta......

I have lots and lots of pics from Ireland and many lovely stories to tell,
its overwhelming me actually,
such a nice overwhelming (:
But today the sun came out and matched its beauty with warmth
and we found ourselves outside with seemingly the whole city
alive and enjoying stretching its limbs.
Neighbors we've passed quickly in the cold for months now
we spent long moments chatting with about travels,
goats milk, chamomile honey, and all types of other random
things that make neighborly conversations such good ones.

So so happy you're here,
random warm spring day.
 You're so hopeful and lovely.

That One Time We Went On a Impromptu Labor Day Roadtrip And Forgot To Charge The Camera....

hence the weird mix of phone and dslr pics (:
We are so enjoying this season of independence and being
able to do crazy impromptu trips like this one.
As we were talking about random things Saturday night
we realized we had 2 days off and hadn't seen one of our good friends
(he helped us move here in the middle of winter,
so actually he's a really REALLY good friend ;))
in almost 3 years, so hey lets take this time off and go to Louisville and see him!

We had such fun (:

It was so delightful and encouraging to catch up
and find that we were learning/going through some of
the exact same things, just different circumstances.
To laugh about old stories (some of them new to me)
and make some new funny memories,
like losing Blake's car in the middle of downtown and
spending an hour in the sweltering heat searching for it.
It wasn't so funny in the moment (we all had blisters and were quite sweaty :P),
but in the evening we were crying we were laughing so hard about it.

We ate so much yummy food too!
Some of the best chinese we've ever had,
sushi, fudge (the boys said it was AMAZING),
and we ate at one of those grilled cheese and soup places popping up everywhere.
Their vegan cheese was reeeeally good!
And of course we had some local coffee (:

It makes me sad that the camera was dead,
because Louisville is just beautiful
and I would have enjoyed capturing more of it
for memories sake.
Especially the bridge they transformed into a walkway from
Kentucky to Ohio.
Have you heard about it? Its so cool!
We walked on it in the evening after eating
and it was just breathtaking.
I took some pics on my phone but you'll have
to squint really hard to see much of anything...
I kinda of want to go back just to
go on it again.

I am so grateful for old friends
and roadtrips (:

Hope your weekend was grand!
Josh was working nights this weekend
(covering for a friend)
so ours was spent mostly sleeping.
We also stopped by our local record store
and didn't recognize but maybe 7 artists....
we felt very very young.
Then Josh bought two whole boxes filled with old records at a yard sale
for only $15! We only know 5 of the artists but
we have dreams of winter evenings listening
to records refining our musical taste (:
I felt like the weekend started early when I took my littles
to the beach on Friday, such a beautiful fun day!
My eldest little starts school this week so our fall will officially begin
and Josh starts school next week so this is the last week of summer for us.
We have grand plans for drive in movies, beach picnics,
italian ices, and camping on the weekend.
Going out with a bang (:

P.S. We decided to walk/scooter to Karate today
and this one sang "Old McDonald" at the top of his
lungs the whole way.
Loved it (:

Snapshots from the weekend

This weekend was spent catching up on sleep
and tales from each other's week, lots and lots of coffee,
picnics, and a sweet time hearing tales of far off place with friends.
Wish we could do it all over again (:

By the way, can you believe its August??
Boy oh boy, only 2 more weeks till school starts.
Here's to the last run of summer!
Happy Monday,

P.S. this song has been on replay over here lately.
So good.

A good one

This weekend was SUCH a good one.
I woke up feeling loads and loads better on Saturday so we decide to carry out
our original plan of escaping the city for greener pastures.
But before we left we stopped at a couple estate sales
and man did we hit the jackpot!
A gorgeous vintage blanket, a train set, a few records,
some beautiful vintage and designer clothes,
a mini grill (which has been on our wishlist for a looong time)
and some christmas lights to top it all off!
All for just dollars,
we were over the moon (:

Then we drove off into the hot summer sun until we reached
this forest/lake preserve I've been wanting to check out.
We found this lovely little hidden spot that was just begging
to be enjoyed and picnicked in.
So we did,
and it was perfect.
We picnicked, rested, and soaked up the sun to our hearts content.
Just wonderful.
And if that weren't enough to make the day pretty much
my favorite yet, then we drove to a drive in movie
and saw Despicable Me II!
Sooooo much fun!

Sunday we accidentally slept in waaaay past when we should
have been up and off to church (oops)
so we stayed home and worked together on this project and that.
Such as weeding the backyard, and boring stuff like that (:
But it was so much fun and restful in its own way to work hard together.
Now if we can just figure out how to kill those dang
weeds so they never ever ever come back....

And that was our weekend!

So good,
wish we could do it all over again (:
