True Story

this happened earlier this evening. Josh had just found a rubbermaid of forgotten food and sat down next to me to eat it... 




Husband: We need to get better about not forgetting food in the fridge

Me: Yeah, sorry about that...


Husband: I think we should do refrigerator drills

Me: what?

Husband: Yeah, I'll hide food that needs to be eaten in the fridge and you have to go find it!

no, this is not going to become the "cool videos Alyssa found on Youtube" blog....

We think this one is SO COOL! So cool in fact that we are thinking about learning the choreography.
Maybe, not sure we could actually pull it off. I mean really. How cool are they?

Because I think I said "this is so adorable!" 409,787,263,849 times while watching this the first time I watched it. And now one of my favorite things to do is watch this and dream of doing this with little Josh's and Alyssa's (:

So Excited!

Just booked a flight to see this amazing friend and her newborn baby girl! YAAYYY! oh goodness. Cannot contain the excitement. Still cannot believe this girl is a MOMMY. Where does the time go... So excited for some baby cuddling, giggles over husbands, and just sweet times with this dear sister.
 3 weeks! cannot wait.

Happy Memorial Day! hope your day was full of rest and fun! We are so grateful for the men and women who have and are serving to keep us safe. Especially for this man :) love you Daddy. Thank you for working so tirelessly and the many, many sacrifices you have made to guard and protect us. My respect and admiration for you only grows with each year. Thank you for serving our country and family so very well.

I want to do this every night for the rest of my life

Thursday night we had a little picnic at the beach after work. It was delightful. I have dreams of doing this often in the coming summer nights. Husband, cool breezes, admiring the beauty we have the privilege of living in and lots of cuddles while eating popsicles <sigh> this is going to be a great summer!

In which we celebrate the beautiful story called "Us"

   

 I am so in love with this man of mine! Yesterday was our 2 year wedding anniversary and we enjoyed it to the fullest. It was so sweet how richly God blessed us with unexpected time together yesterday. From riding together to work, to Husband being kicked out of the office due to a private meeting and working at Starbucks instead (so of course E and I had to go distract him for awhile!), to lunching together, to getting off a little early, and to riding home together, it was perfect way to prepare for a special evening together. And honestly, after having probably the worst argument we've ever had the night before (We stink at timing. Worst argument ever the night before your anniversary? urgh.) the time together was very healing and so needed. We are so blessed, us two. God has filled our life with His forgiveness and grace and I am so grateful God pre-ordained before time began the story of "Us".

Abstaining from Complaining

Well,
 That whole little road trip thing didn't happen because I was in bed sick with strep instead. Not a fair trade off in my book. But husband is a marvelous lover and took me next friday instead and it was perfectly lovely! Sunny, long talks, a nap in the a field.... So wonderful! Until I started feeling really sick and my eye started turning a gruesome shade of dark red and swelling. Urgh. So we come home to look at the eye again and find oozing gunk. OOZING gunk! Urgh, Urgh, URGH! So the next morning we hunt around for a Dr. that will see new patients and ended up at a PCC clinic (they were great! DEFINITELY going there next weekend when I inevitably get sick with ANOTHER strange disease) to find out that I had an eye infection. A VERY contagious eye infection and I was going to be contagious with this VERY contagious eye infection for 2 days.
However, it turned out to be one of the sweetest weekends yet! Lots of cuddling, a little monty python, a little waffle at a diner, LOTS of cleaning and organizing done, AND husband surprised me with a KEYBOARD! A keeeeeyboarrrrrrd! He said he missed hearing me playing and we've already waited way too long. I adore him.
So.... all that to say. I kept quiet a lot this week because I had nothing nice to say only to look back and realize I was either sleeping or cuddling with my marvelous husband. And it was wonderful.

Hello Weekend!

So excited for this weekend! Husband just told me we're going on a mini road trip outside of the city. Just us and the open road! I loooove road trips. I'm dreaming of love songs and a picnic and pretty picture taking. Definitely some kisses (:

Oh I'm so excited! Its going to be VERY mini as in only a couple hours but I'll take what I can get with this wonderful man of mine. Its been a bit of a rough season for us. Lots of work, family stuff, lots and lots of school and not a lot of us time. Its been good, I've learned love and appreciate husband in new ways and to trust my God who loves me more than I will ever know. It has been humbling and strengthening and I have seen tremendous growth in me and in us, but it has been hard. I have found myself looking forward to the restful season of summer more and more. Picnics, concerts in the park, cool evenings on the porch, popsicles, whispered secrets under the stars, weddings, and lots and lots of sunny days. I can't wait! But for now, a mini road trip will be a delightful reminder of whats to come and a great time to teach husband some more love songs (;
